The oldest debate...

The debate that's been going on forever...does the baby look like mom or dad. While at my parents last night we were having the debate yet again on who Afton looked like, so I came home and found some old pictures of me and this was the result.

Poor Jesse is left out because both our kids are my spitting image.

Which means obviously they look like each other! They are so stinking cute if I do say so myself!!

Jace update July to September 2014

Jace is so stinking cute I can't even handle it sometimes but i swear he only turns on the charm right after doing something I want to kill him for! Haha I am kidding of course, but making jokes like that is kind of how I deal with the stress. I'll tell Jesse that his kid is buggin and I'm giving him away to the gypsies after he splashes in the toilet, poops in the bathtub, or runs away from me in public (prego momma doesn't run!).
Here is a quick update. Jace is incredibly active, he literally runs in circles and all over the place. Playing run away and being chased is his favorite game. He babbles a lot and he is getting better at communicating what he wants or needs.  He loves when we put fritz on a leash and he can "walk" him around the front yard at the Fishers. His hand coordination  has really developed and he can easily put milk lids into a diaper wipes box opening and he loves to do that over and over again. Something particularly adorable he has been doing is smiling as me while scrunching up his entire face, I hope I catch it on camera soon because it makes my day. He is still obsessed with stuffed animals, he loves them and hugs them and eats their faces. He also really loves cars, trucks and his scooter. Those are the main toys he plays with all day long.

I am conditioning him to like his Halloween costume which is a shark. He hates it but I put it on him and feed him fruit snacks and slowly he is hating it less 😃. I refuse to have a whiny crying kid on Halloween when he is supposed to be adorable and cute and get lots of compliments haha.
He is still very attached to daddy and when Jesse is here he wants nothing to do with me/ mom. Which can be difficult but also so sweet to see the adoration he has for Jesse. When Jesse is watching snowmobile videos he has to be right there on his lap watching too and when Jesse was doing construction to the house he had to have a hammer and be pounding the ground as close to Jesse as possible. It seriously melts my heart!

Till next time....

Jace over a year old

Jace loves dancing , chillin with dad or on his rocking chair, playing music on any of his toys or stealing someone's phone for their music. Jace loves stuffed animals and carries them around hugging and playing with them and biting their faces. He does this annoying thing where he turns his bottle upside down and purposefully spills the milk out onto the ground and he loves how much it drives me crazy. He can say a few words; mom/ momma/ ma, da, dana (duh na), wow, vroom, roof, bye, grandma (grah mah). He loves water and enjoys boating but doesn't like the life jacket or when Jesse goes too fast.

Jesse visit June 2014

Jesse and I bought a boat! We went out several times while he was home and had such a blast. We had so much fun in the sun with the wind blowing through our hair (Jesse's not so much haha) Jesse loves to go really fast but jace didn't so Jace and I would hang out in the lil cabin up front and play or cuddle.  The water was still so cold but it didn't stop us from getting in a lot.
We did a lot of other fun things while Jesse was here including the scera pool and cowabunga bay and just hanging out with our awesome families! I love love love the summer and this visit with Jesse has been so ridiculously amazing. I'm so happy I get to have him as my husband, best friend and father of my sweet baby boy!

Jesse's visit in May

Jesse got home the day before Mother's Day and it was such a treat to get to sleep in on Mother's Day and have his help withJace. Jace was very happy to have him home because daddy can do some fun stuff that pregnant worn out mommy can't haha. We had a really good time just relaxing and hanging out at home. But we also did quite a few fun things like hang out with friends and famh and of course ate out a lot. We would get yummy food and go eat it in the canyon because the weather was so beautiful. One time we got subway and right as I was finishing I got so nauseous that I lost everything and we had to go get me more food cause my poor belly was so empty. We spent a lot of time hanging out with family just talking and laughing. Jesse thinks he is so funny and his family thinks he is hilarious too. Maybe cause I'm the butt of the joke a lot  I think he's funny but don't laugh as much haha. We went to Scheels this huge sporting goods store and it was really cool and was so big we got tired before finishing exploring so we'll have to go check that out again sometime. We took jace to the rec center which was fun cause there was hardly anyone there so we could be loud and crazy :)  our anniversary on the 19th was pretty chill we just went to dinner and had some nice alone time.

10 months

Jace is ten months old and as crazy as ever! I looked at him while he was on Jesse's shoulders and made a weird face and growled at him which made him smile and go nuts. It made me realize that he is weird cause I am weird :). He is walking all over the place... As long as he has something to hold onto haha. Jesse said, " he has the side step down, he could side step to China!" He has been very needy of me for the last while,
he basically only wants me and no one else and he almost always has to see me or be near me. I'm ok with it cause he is so cute I can't get enough of him!

8 months old

Jace is eight months old !
He is so fun and crazy, I'm so glad I get to be with him all the time and really witness all the funny exciting things he does. I want to document a few things I have noticed that are small but I want to remember.
He really studies objects, he turns them over and over studying them from every angle. He does this silly thing where he lifts the object up above his head in a circle still staring and studying it.
He growls a lot and sometimes it sounds like a zombie and freaks me out, but mostly it is adorable.
Now that he can crawl he follows me everywhere. When he is in his walker he follows me, it can really hurt my ankles because he just keeps bashing into me so he can be as close to me as possible!
I am so lucky to have such a happy and healthy baby. He has had a rough time lately because he is pulling himself up to standing which means falling down a lot and bumping his head. It scares me so bad, but I do appreciate all the love and hugs I'm getting out of it. Also he has been a little sad about the pain of some teeth coming in.
Overall he is a super happy, sweet, crazy about life little boy and I'm so glad I get to be his momma! Oh another funny thing is that when I sing the song Bohemian Rhapsody dramatically he hates it and cries almost every time...which I find hilarious.

I like to move it, move it

This kid is becoming very mobile. He can scooch backwards and can get to his bum on his own.

6 months old!

Jace is six months old and I know how cliche is sounds but I simply can't believe how fast the time has gone by!
He is getting so big and is developing really quickly right now. If you sit him on his bum he can sit up on his own for a while. He now turns over from his back to his belly, which for him is a big deal cause he hated being on his belly.
I adore this little guy so much! He really is my best friend, we do so many fun things everyday. I enjoy reading to him and listening to him laugh, sometimes he snorts or sucks in air and it is ridiculously funny.
Yesterday was his six month appointment and he is a tall and lean kid! My string bean got shots which are leaving him feeling icky and the doctor confirmed that he has some teeth coming in too so he is a sad little guy today, but is still such a happy smiley baby so I count myself lucky.

Momma

I love my mom so much and I simply can't believe she has been gone for almost four years.
Sadly like everyone my memories fade, and I'm genuinely worried that if I don't take the time to think about her and actually write things down I will just forget. So here are some things I remember about my mom.

She:
-Loved boggle
-Loved history - Horatio hornblower, Napoleon
-Loved music and movies -Start the Revolution without me
-Wanted to be called Groovy gal or bitchin babe
-Cared about resolving problems immediately
-Passionate at football games (I remember hearing her yell at the players when we came to watch me cheer haha)
-Loved Yankees and hockey
-Talked a lot! (Like mother like daughter!)
- Very giving
- Loved bicycling
- Crafty (made beautiful dresses and we all had homemade quilts)

These are just a few for now, I'll come back and add more later

Thankfulness continued

I am thankful for...

That I got to hang out with Halle today and she really is the best niece ever! She is so quirky and unique. She actually likes school and loves most of her teachers! How many 13 year olds do you know like that!? She is amazingly gorgeous, has a fun sense of style and I love the way she talks about her future life with Harry Styles!  I know life isn't always easy but she is so strong and brave and I hope she knows how much I truly love her.

My new sink and counter top that Jesse made! He is incredibly talented and I'm pretty jealous of how he creates so many things. It just comes naturally to him. He's been helping me and showing off since we took jewelry in high school.

I know I shouldn't focus on objects but I am also very thankful for my giant tv, toys that entertain and teach Jace, books, my bed and giant fluffy comforter, and for heating & air conditioning.

I am thankful for technology which allows me to stay in touch with my sister in Georgia and especially my husband in North Dakota. I can talk or text when his service stinks. We can face time so he can see Jace and I can send him hundreds of pictures so he doesn't miss out on what is going on with our baby boy.

I appreciate so much the wonderful time I get to live in! I am very glad I do not have to push handcarts or pump water from a well or go to the bathroom outdoors... I believe God knew I couldn't handle those things.

November- attempting to be more thankful

Seeing people's posts on Facebook every day this month talking about something they are thankful for has really got me thinking. I need to be more thankful for the amazing life that I have. Well it starts here and now!

I am thankful for...

My amazing and handsome husband who works 24/7 in North Dakota for an entire month so that we can afford for me to have my dream job of being a stay at home mom.

My adorable 5 month old baby boy Jace who is my best friend and makes me smile all the time. He has such a fun lil personality!

My amazing family (both mine and Jesse's) they do so much to help me and are so fun to be around

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It brings me peace and joy and because of it I know I will get to see my beautiful momma again one day.

I am thankful for so much more, but that is all I have time for right now :)

Scary Snowmobiling Incident and longest blog of your life

Jesse and I had a really great vacation to utah recently. We drove the 15 hours to utah just talking about life and what not, listening to music, and stopping a lot to stretch. We were so happy that Nate Siebach our brother in-law had finally gotten home from Afghanistan. The first night we were there the whole Fisher family went out to dinner together and we talked and laughed and laughed and talked some more. I had the salad bar which is located smack dab in the center of the restaurant and I can attest to the fact that we were the loudest group in the place! It continued to be a good night, we played a fun new game where we all learned that we know nothing haha except maybe Jesse's dad Randy (Oh and Grandma, who wasn't even playing).

The next day Jesse and I got to go snowmobiling for the first time this year! It was also a big deal because it was our first time out on our awesome new Arctic Cat. We didn't go too long because the snow where we were wasn't the best and our bodies hadn't taken that kind of abuse in a while and couldn't take it for too long, at least not me. The next few days we did some shopping, just hanging out with friends, did dinner and games with my family, and just had an overall good time.

Alright, now the climax of the story, time to get to the real ooey gooey stuff!

We woke up and immediately headed out for a day of fun in the mountains. We decided that we wanted to try somewhere new, somewhere we could really explore and have fun with. We ended up in a beautiful area somewhere above Sundance. It was perfect! Great snow, there was lots of powder that we could zig zag through where we are up on one ski and basically half our bodies are in the snow (There is a term for it, but Jesse isn't here to tell me what it is right now). We got so deep in it at one point I fell off. One problem, I was holding on really tightly to Jesse so he fell off too! We were starting to get tired and a bit hungry so we thought we'd have one last hoorah and leave. We had to get over a hill to go play in a bowl, but we got stuck. Jesse got off by the front to wiggle the skis to get help us get out. As I said before there was lots of powder. When Jesse stepped off he sank down pretty far. He sat down and said, "oh man, I ripped my pants that we just bought!" I am thinking to myself dang those were expensive. Then he says in a tone that I can't decide if it is joking or not, " I think I might need stitches"

He ripped his pants open further and what I saw made my heart stop. When Jesse sank in the snow, his leg caught a piece of metal on his skis. There was a perfect slice through his skin right down to the bone! A recap; we are 5 plus miles away from our car, 15 plus miles away from a hospital, snowmobile is stuck, and the experienced driver is sliced open. Oh yeah and we left our backpack (with medical supplies) and some other junk over in the next field.
Time to panic, well at least I did. Jesse remained really calm. Asked me for my head warmer, which wasn't enough so I ripped off my coat and sweatshirt and gave him my shirt to wrap around his leg. Jesse drove us down the mountain so he could elevate his leg by resting it on the hood. Of course he wouldn't leave the
snowmobile up there! We had to take the time to load it up. Of course he wouldn't lay in the back and elevate his leg! He told me he was driving. He was even cracking jokes about whether we should stop and get lunch before we went to get medical attention! We did finally end up at the insta-care where we were the main event. All the nurses told us that it was the most exciting thing that they'd done/seen at work in a while.

The doctor was really nice and did a fine job of putting 4 stitches on the inside with the muscles and junk. Telling us that Jesse was lucky, because he barely missed a tendon and something else that is scary and important. Then the doctor finished up with 16 stitches on the outside and told us that Jesse would have a pretty nasty scar but otherwise be fine in about two weeks.

I was sure glad that he was ok, especially because that night we had a party to go to! Hahaha, But seriously. My family took us out to a place called Comedy Sportz. Which is a lot like Who's Line is it Anyways. All of us were laughing like crazy, it was so much fun. The day started great and ended great which is all that really matters, right?
The next day was our last, and we split ways. He got to hang out with a great friend, and I got to spend quality time with two of my sisters and niece. Then we headed back to North Dakota. Can't wait till next months Utah adventures!

WARNING!!!!! Only scroll down if you can take looking at icky pictures of blood and gore!
